Mr Cave has been connected with the Cricket Club for the past nine years, during which he has worked untiringly to keep the bail rolling. As a member Jof ;bd CouuLy Cuu..cii Mr Cava has been instrumental in benefitting tho road work by agitating for a roller. Mr Gibbs piesented Mrs Cave with a silver deck and Mi Cave with a ciicket bat. Mr Cave suitably replied on behalf of Mrs Cave and himself. A social evening was also tendered to Mr R Frew and family who are leaving for their new home in Te Kuiti. Mr Washer, in a neat little speech, dwelt upon Mr Frew’s worth as a “ sport ” as Mr Frew has been connected with the Sports and Football Club for some years. Mr Washer then presented Mrs Frew with a silver cream and sugar service and Mr Frew with a handsome silver mounted spirit stand, and wished them every prosperity in their new home. Mr Frew suitably responded. Dancing was kept up until the 11 wee sma hours.” Songs were contributed by Miss A. Tapp, and Messrs J. Tapp and A- E Washer. The roads at present are very busy with drays and waggons laden with furniture all making new homes for the coming season. In fact some of the sharemilkers £ehift so often that their fowls lie on their backs and bold up their legs to be tied at the word of command.
