PATEA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

Special Meeting. A special meeting of the Patea School Committee was held in the Technical School on Wednesday night, Mr J. H. Johnston presiding. Messrs Jones, GHenny, Hemingway, Armotf and Kobbie (Headmaster) were also piesent. The Chairman explained that it would.be necessary to bold one or more socials during the winter months in to rai.e the necessary funds for the maintenance of the school as the capitation on the present basis was quite inadequate. He would move that a social bo held at an easly d i e. The resolution was seconded by Mr Hemingway and carried. It was also resolued on the motion of the Chairman that the public be invited to subscribe towards a sum of £2.5 that Was inquired to levo* and put the grounds in order.
