Liberal Candidate for Waipawa Mr A. E. Jull was unanimously elected at a meeting of delegates of the Liberal Leagues in the Waipawa electorate to contest the seat in the Opposition interests at the general election. The Taranaki Seat. The Eltham says:—" It is rumoured that efforts are being made r to induce Mr Claude Weston to stand f- for the Taranaki seat in the Liberal interest. He is well known, exceedingly popular, has a most courteous and attractive bearing, and if he should stand the chances are that; he would win the seat with ease- He has the good fortune to be as well hked in the country as he is in the town of New Plymouth." We have the best authority for stating that Mr Weston 1 will not be a candidate." "" Alton. Mr Dennehy, the Dominion Liberal Organiser will address the electors at Alton and Hurleyville districts in the Alton Hall to-morrow, at 8 p.m. After the meeting a rally of Liberals will be held. At a meeting held at Inglewood on Friday night it was resolved to form ' r a branch of the Eeform League for joint electorates of Taranaki and Stratford. There was a good attendance. Officers were elected as fol-lows:-President, Mr Henry Brown; vice-Presidents, Messrs T. E, Hamerton, W E Percival, H J M ThomsoD, A. Marshall, and J. Brown; Hon; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr 0- 0. Roberts (oro tern) ; general committee, Meesrs T*Drake, T. A. Kennedy, H. Luke, C. R- O'Carroll, A, E, Symes, If. Brown, C. Roberts, and S. Huston. This branch has over 100 members;
