PRESBTYERIAN GARDEN FETE.

The Presbyterian Garden Fete was ' held in the Domain on Wednesday afternoon in somewhat doubtful weather. . There was only a fair l attendance of the public, but those who were present, particularly the little ones, enjoyed themselves immensely. The Sweet Pea Show was exceptionally good, some very fine blooms being shown. The following were among the prizewinners : Sweet Pea Classes. One Vase White Peas—Miss A. Paterson 1, Mrs E. Derrett 2. . One Vase, Eed or Scarlet—Mrs E, Dsrrett 1, Miss L. Cody 2, One Vase, Mixed—Mrs P. Tong (Kakaramea) 1, Minn A. Paterson 2. One Vase, three Varieties—Mrs P. Tong 1, Miss A. Paterson 2. Best Collection—Mrs Bridgman I, Miss Paterson 2. General. Bowl of Flowers—Miss Winnie Paterson 1. Gentlemen's Buttonhole—Miss Audrey Paterson 1, Miss Christie Paterson 2. Floral Device—Mia9 W. Paterson 1. Daoorated Parasol—Miss Christie Paterson 1, Miss Audrey Paterson 2. Decorated Horss —Mr J. Mercer 1. During the afternoon Messrs Paterson, Thompson, Fraser and Armour saw to it that the youngsters had a really good time, arranging games of every description whilst Mr J. F. Williamson kindly acted as gate keeper. The Afternoon Tea Booth in charge of Mesdames Cody, Fraser, Oharteris, with Misses Carmiohael and Howitt did a good business as did the Lollie, Produce and Fancy Work Stalls: These were presided over by the following ladies :—Lollie Stall: Misses Boagey, Wybourn and MacNaughton. Produce : Mesdames Barr, and Harrison. Fanoy Work: Miss Carmiohael and Mrs Petersen. Unfortunately rain fell rather heavily about 4 p.m, and continued for some time, spoiling what was otherwise a most enjoyable afternoon. The total receipts of the Fete amounted to £ls 14s Od and after all expenses are paid the Committee expect to have a balance of £lO. The Committee desire to heartily thank all who assisted in connection with the Party. i
