Miss McHardie, who has beea relieving teacher at Waverley school for some time past, returned south yesterday* Mr Laurie McKenna left Patea on. Wednesday evening for the South. He catches the Sydney boat at Wei* lington to.day. He will remain in the Sydney office till after Christmas, af oi* which he expects to he shifted to Western Australia! The Rev. H. E. Deane and Mrs Deane, who have been on a visit to Wanganui, return to-morrow ev6uing, and Mr Deane will conduct Divine Service at St George's Anglican Church on Sunday. On Wednesday last, Lieutenant Turner sat for hia practical military examination at Wanganui. Captain Brown, of the Defence Forces, was tha examining officer. The papers hav* been forwarded to Wellington ho si quarters and the result will be notified iu duo course.
