LAWN TENNIS.
It has been found necessary to postpone the Taranaki Lawn Tennis Association’s tournament, announced for January Ist and 2nd. The management has ascertained that practically all the leading players will be attending the big tournament at Nelson, and this makes it impossible to conduct a successful meeting here. The date will be announced as soon as fixed. A match will take place on the Patea court to-morrow between the local club and Queens Park (Wanganui.) The following team will represent the Patea club : A. Povvdrell, E. 0. B, Whitehead, V. Wybourne, S. Kennedy, W. Jones, G. Beamish, Miss Powdrell, Mrs. Payne, Mrs. Jones, Miss Benner. There will be a general tea.
