In tbe course of a lengthy report by Mr D. Cuddie, Dairy Commissioner, be states he made exhaustive enquiries in regard to the quality of. the buttir sent to London from iSTe\v Zealand, and he found that a great da d of it was giving entire satisfaction. freshness and soundness of flavor. "Comparing the butter from New Zealand with that on the market from other countries," states Mr Cuddie, "it was found that with the exception of the besL from Denmark and some of that from

Sweden, the butter from the Dominion was, as a rule, superior, and this was borne ont by the opinion expressed to me by the experienced judges in the trade. It must be admitted, however, th.it p. much higher proportion of the butter is of superior quality than is the case with that from New Zealand."
