Yesterday Noble only increased his sepre by 2, bringing his total to 65, when|be was caught, O’Connor got 20 and Eansford 25. Seven wickets were > down for 180, when Hartigan and Hill became associated. The aspect of the v game was speedily changed, and at i . ( the close of play both batsmen were at the wickets and the total was 397, Hartigan being 106 not out and Hill 105 not out. The Englishmen dropped several chances, Hartigan thus joins the small number of batsmen who have scored a century in their first test match.
