BOWLING.
The holders of the Ferns, A. Howitt and J. Holtham skip, had a tough struggle to retain possession on Wednesday when, they encountered T, Thompson senr. and D. Thompson skip. The challengers had the best of the game, scoring on 11 heads, and at the 18th head wer-e leading by 15 to 12. The holders got a six in on the next head and finally won by 20 to 16.
