COOPER’S BIOGRAPH.

Those who were present at the Druids’ Hall last night were unanimous in voting the entertainment given by the Cooper Biograph Company an excellent one. The pictures were all good and, with the exception of a couple, entirely new to Patea. Pride of place must be accorded the colored film of the Grand Opera Faust which conveys an admirable idea of the opera. Sherlock Holmes, Savage America and American firemen, showing the Chicago fire brigade turning out to a fire, Marvellous Maoriland, a series of views of .Rotorua, Maori life and scenes within the Dominion, were all capital films. Though pictures of football matches are always more or less unsatisfactory the one shown last night of the All Blacks first match with Australia is certainly the best ever seen here. Numerous comic pictures were thrown on the screen. Several of the latest illustrated songs were rendered by Miss Fisher and in all instances she received a hearty encore. A very clever comedy sketch,combining originality and comedy, in which the parts were taken by Miss Fisher and Mr Wilson kept the audience in a continuous fit of laughter. The entertainment is certainly one of the best seen in Patea for a long time and is deserving of better support than it received. To-night the company will appear again at the Uruids’ Hall when a large number of new films will be thrown on the screen. A particularly good one is entitled “ His First Bike Ride ” and is one of the most amusing pictures ever presented and has only just arrived from London. The Grand National Steeplechase will be the subject of another film whilst in Maoriland views of Dunedin and Wanganui will be shown. Faust will be repeated. Miss Fisher will sing a number of now songs which will include Kilaruey. ,
