The agents, who were invited by Air New Zealand on a study trip of Auckland facilities and systems, met two Air New Zealand staff who have an appreciation of Samoa and know what interests tourists in Auckland: Judith Vasa, a booking officer in the passenger sales office. During the two-day study, the women were escorted through Air New Zealand reservations and sales offices, inspected the. Downtown traffic check-in area, were taken on tours of the New Zealand and international terminals, the Mangere engineering base, cabin services facility building and shown through the flight kitchen and catering departments. To give a total view of the Auckland scene, a Tasman/Hertz minibus was provided and the tour party was shown Auckland’s waterfront drive. Included in the tour was a trip to the Auckland Museum, which holds among its many exhibits a Polynesian section that has been acclaimed as the: finest of its type in the world.
