Kihai te tangata ra i mahara, he wae-rua ia, he waewha nga hoiho ra. Te rere te tangata ra, a, a, a, eliara! me he poi-pupara te rerenga o te tangata ki runga i te porotutukitanga o raua ko te hoiho, te hokinga iho o te tangata ra, a, —tau! kite whenua mangamanga noa nga taiki. Ka whakahemohemo te tangata ra; a, marere tonu atu. Kei a po tenei, taua Pakeha; ko te pouaru, me nga tamariki tokoono kei te ao nei.
