Is it a wrong thing that the Pakeha's boundary pole is in the middle of his garden? If you said to me it was wrong, well, no, to me it is all right. I have a boundary [pole?] at Waiwakaiho, Poharama has a boundary [pole] at Ngamotu. That flag has Te Waka guarding it, for all of us. This was the place we gave over in the proper way to the Pakeha. It was a proper and faithful marriage, but it is as for a woman who is properly married to her husband, if he commits adultery then it will be another matter for her. Sir, Honehinu, greetings. You know the customs, and that if some trouble is started against a chief, then it must be suppressed or stopped. There is also Christ's word that the peacemakers rejoice and they will inherit the earth. Friend, Tamati Hone, this is also of my affection for you. The Wesleyan has perhaps started up some trouble for himself in relation to the arrangement we have here, but tell me about it, for I don't know. Nevertheless, those of you who are firm in maintaining the practice of our faith, the Lord's light will shine on you who are pure in heart and steadfast.
