There have been two committee meetings with Te Hiriwanui [Hirawanu?] and I, one at Pukerua, one at Moutoa. Your man, Te Hiriwanui [Hirawanu?], remains adamant about his land being given to you. And Hirawanu's words were not defeated, he remains firm. That ends that matter. And another report for you. Te Kawana's [or, the Governor's] committee met at Waikanae, and Ngati Raukawa came to fetch Te Hiriwanu [Hirawanu?] and I to go there.
