Patea 24 July 1851 Friend, McLean, Greetings to you. I have received your letter. I agree with what you say, however, I will not go to Port Nicholson because I an old man and also my son is very ill. So I am very preoccupied with my child. If that money was to be adjudicated on in Wanganui, I could get there. But in this case I won't go because of the trouble with my child.
