Napier Saturday March 9th My dear Douglas I am writing to your Papa and I think perhaps that you would like to hear from yr aunt Catherine who loves you very much & is so glad to hear that you are such a good little boy & getting on so well with your lessons. My darling child I do long so much to see you and I hope that both Papa & you shall soon pay us a visit. I have got some pretty views of Edinburgh for you & a pretty book from your Aunt Annabella. We expected yr dear grandpapa by the Wanga but he could not get away but he still intends coming & I hope that Papa & his little boy will endeavour to come at the same time. Uncle Alexander sends you his love & says that he has got a nice horse for you to ride. Ever my darling little boy yr aff. aunt Catherine McLean
