This no doubt, will. have been reported to you via Taupo. Clarke has gone to Tauranga. If Cooper's telegram to Fairchild had been less peremptory I should have kept the Luna for three or four days to finish the Manukau survey. It is very important that it should be completed as the condition of the South Channel has greatly changed and it is now dangerous to venture upon the old sailing directions.
