Wanganui 12th. August 1850. Sir, I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No. 50/53 of the 29th. ulto. enclosing the copy of a letter from the principal agent of the New Zealand Company, in reference to the inland boundary of the Rangitikei purchase. In reply, I have to acquaint you, for the information of His Excellency the Lieut. Governor, that I have arranged to-day, with some of the Chiefs, who are to accompany me on this expedition; and beyond a few days to prepare the natives and adjust reserves at Rangitikei, no time shall be lost in giving this boundary the attention it demands.
