C.C. Office.Napier. 27th. February 1865. Sir, In reference to my letter of the 25th. inst. upon the subject of the introduction of the Pai Marire superstition into this Province, I have the honour to acquaint you that I have this morning had a conversation with Karaitiana on the subject. Karaitiana informs me that he has sent a communication to Taupo, with the intention of having that road closed against any further-parties coming here; and that his Meeting is to take place on the 3rd. or 4th. proximo., instead of the 15th.; so that I hope to be able to report further to you upon this subject by the next mail. I have, etc. (Signed) G.S. Cooper. Acting C.C. To:- The Honble. The Minister for Native Affairs.
