There is no doubt he and Loftly have spent much time and trouble over the land and have built a very decent bathing house drained the swamp etc. I think if Mr. Park could get clear of his claim and be removed it might do no harm to himself or the Govt. He is very connected with the Maoris there - I also send letters etc. from Karanama by his request. I hear old Paerau as I expected, is angry re Gilber Mair's lease at Tanaroa or Fort Galatea - When last at Taupo Matuahu asked me for a plough. I promised to ask you for one for him I have just got a letter from him. Could I let him have one with bullock chain? During the late Commission here I had to employ Lee for Tarehas case re 'Little Bush', against H. Russell. Lee sends in account r £10.10 - Tanner offered at time to contribute £1.1.0 and I offered £1.1.0. Could I possibly get assistance from Govt? Tareha has not the money - The case went against H.
