Glenorchy Sabbath My dear Donald I feel much destressed destressed [crossed out] at being obliged to trouble you at this time but I see plainly something must be done. Archy is getting daily worse, and Baker has told me that he is determined to leave. For me to remain alone here is impossible. He will not hear of going to America unless he would get some situation that he could pay his own way, instead of the proposal having the effect of soothing him it has had quite a contraray effect. He imagines you want him out of the way. I shall enclose this note in one to Mr Blythe that he may not suspect me writing to you. Any letters to me please enclose to young Archy who will deliver them to me privately. I see plainly unless something is done to make him feel more at ease in his mind, and enable him to meet his present diffilcusties that his end will be very sad. I trust that you will see that something is done before you leave. I remain in haste Catherine
