Napier Febry 3rd My dearest Alex I suppose that you know from Archy that Annabella and I are now safely arrived. Annabella is most anxious to see you. I hear that you have been very unwell lately for which I am much grieved but I hope that you have got over it now and that you will keep well for a long time to come. I enjoyed my trip to Wellington very much. The Judge and Mr Strang was very kind to us. Poor little Annabella does not look nearly as pretty as she did when I left home. She wants to go up and live with you and she wants you to learn her to ride. I suppose you know that Mr Homes is at Akotea with Donald. They will be with you on Monday. He tells me that Malcom McLean'sdaughter is married and well married. My dear Alex With much love I am ever yr attached sister Catherine McLean
