The ship "Cashmere", Pearson, 600 tons, from Auckland with passengers and goods for this place. 1 Same slipped anchor and put to sea - strong breeze from N.N. East. 2 Resident Magistrate came into Town. Overland Mail from Auckland. 4 Cashmere returned and anchored. Court Day. No case. Overland mail left for Auckland. 5 By direction of Resident Magistrate called on Mr. P. George to remove his fencing in Leach and Liardet Street. 6 General muster. Police in charge of Bonded Store and on duty in Town. The "Diana" from Kawhia. A canoe with 8 Natives headed by Tikaokao, arrived from Tongaporutu with 48 bushels of wheat. Cashmere discharged and recovered her anchor and chain. The duties of the Police continue to be attended to and all here is quiet. H. Halse. Sergt. Major. New Plymouth 6 Decr. 1851.
