I paid him for his wool for the year 1860 by cash £21.6 ballance for wages £3.3.11 Total £24.9.11. Total sheep shorn of his for 1861 237 @ 2/ per head £23.14 And he was allowed lambs 101 @ 1/ per head 5. 1 Total £28.15 You will understand that Alexander will have to charge or sell him so many rams for the year 1861. I believe that Alexander paid him part of the £28.15 but what part I do not know, but I believe some £10 or twelve pounds. Their for last year 1862 the number of sheep after deducting 3 per cent for loses shoren for them was 328 @ 2/ per head wool money £32.16 but they would have to pay out of that for rams for last year or buy them, so that is how they stand up to this year which I have not made out or was requested to do so. I do wish all those affairs were once settled and of my mind. If I am to keep them I would like a proper understanding but if you are going to keep them yourself I want to gave you them all over with the information I have regarding them. I am very busy and of course I cannot look much after them at Maraekakaho but I have kept a/c of all the sheep that was bought from Oliver & Ormond. The wethers you have sold you have an a/c of. I do wish they would finish the drafting and get done with that work and send the wethers up here. As regards Mr Ormond, he is still here and very much in my way with his pigs, poultry etc. He certainly is a most usless man is ever I came across and no decisision. He regretes he did not go to the warrie out at the bush. Don't you take anything to do with him. I will manage with him myself and if you gave him one inch he will take a mile. When I allowed him to go into this warrie he was to live in a few day and he is now into it 16 days. However he says that he will get away on the first of May. I have agreed to gave him the horse Petter and two cows & their calves. Cows & calves £13 each, 1 heifer £8, horse £18 to make up for the interest for 6 months which he agrees to. One cannot be too hard under the circumstances. I wrote a note on Saturday & Sunday which I send you also inclosed. Do drope me a few lines by the Kinrosses. We are all quite well and Douglas working away with me like a man. If his old grandfather was to see him he might well be proud of him. He is a dear boy.
