My dear Sir, You will perceive by the heading of this letter that I an on the road to Taranaki and hope D.V. to see you on the 20th. inst. when I shall remain till His Excellency arrives and then resume my journey to Wellington. His Excellency may be looked for about the 25th. I hope you have been successful in obtaining the necessary information but form recent intelligence form England. You must prepare the minds of the natives to brook delay a question like that of Taranaki especially now the Company is broken up cannot be settled in a day. You may tell the natives I am on may road to see them, and then if I can be of any assistance to you I shall have pleasure in rendering it. I am, dear Sir, Yours in haste, Thomas Forsaith.
