Glenorchy April 28 /64 My dear brother I know you will feel anxious to hear how we got home. We arrived home about nine o'clock. I felt very much fatigued & was obliged to keep my bed all day on Sabbath. Please say to Dr Hitchens if he enquiries that I do not feel so well as I did when I left Napier. The little girl had left before I got home so I have no assistance at present. I intend to write Mrs Wilson and ask her to loan one of her young girls for me. I was very much pleased to see Maraekakaho look so tidy. John told us that on Friday night he had had six gents & four horses for the night. I have no doubt whatever but it will become profitable in time. My dear brother may I beg of you to accept of my love & gratitude for your kindness to me. I could not trust my feelings to express what I felt when hearing this. Old Ferguson & Anabella were here on Sabbath. Alexander all night. I remain your attached sister C I McLean
