26 May 1857 Port Napier Dear Donald I take the oportunity of writing you a few lines by the steamer Wonga Wonga which I am glad to se entering our harbour. I am glad to hear from Mr Stafford and Mr Brace which I was glad to se hear that you should be down hear by the return boat. Everything is going on well at your station. I have been their for the last month back. Young Gascoyne hear with me. He arrived hear some few days ago. He stops at your place. Being short of flour I have got some from Bain place [?] and a little tea and sugar. If I had your letter beforehand I should not have got the goods but Munn is so high in his prices. There is no delay with him and I thought it was better to get some things from Bain. I have got provisions at your place to last nearly twelve months so that those expences shall not be heavey for a long time to come. As you are comeing hear in a few days I need not say no more as we shall arange hear and as you shall get the news from Mr Brace.
