Maraekakaho April first My dear Donald Although you grumble at getting so many small notes from me still I know that you like to hear from me, and get all the news from this quarter. Well then in the first place dear Archy is now setteled in his own home. The moveing took place on Saturday and a great day it was. Dugie is chief officer and general manager. He is looking a great deal better already and his appetite very much improved. Catherine is feeding him on porah and cream which seems to agree with him so I think that we shall keep him up untill I go down. I went up with Miss McDougal yesterday to see them and they are wonderfully comfortable and looking as happy as they can look. Catherine is an excellent mannager and I doubt not but they will do well. All Archy's concern now is to get Annabella out and he is the most unselfish man in the world and I hope that something good is in there for him yet. They are busy with the drafting here. Alec not well with rheumatism otherwise pretty well. Has Miss Russell come down. I read yr speech and from what I hear it has given general satisfaction. Be sure and send me up 4 or 5 copies of the paper to send home. I had a note from Captain Bishop which I enclose. Is the Co[u n]cil [?] ball to come off? If so let me know in time. Miss McDougal is going on a visit to Mr Lowry. He came here last week and asked her. I see that it is of no use talking to him of home. She speaks of going up to Auckland to see her friends if she does not get a situation in this Province. I spoak to her of going to Otago but she does not seem inclined to go anywhere but Auckland. An[d] here now I have given you all my news. I am always yr affectionate sister Catherine
