16 November 1858 Maraekakaho My dear brother I received your letter this evening and was glad to hear you were all well which finds us all the same at present. As I am going from home for a few days and going to start in the morning I write you a few lines by Oliver who is going to the port so that you may get this by first oportunity. You wrote me some time back to buy some tow hundred sheep for Graham but I am afraid their shall be no ram nor room for them and as the sheep are doing so well hear you are better by all means sell some of your own on the station for twenty three shillings affter shearing. That is the value of sheep this year and he cannot get better sheep in the districk. There are lots of sheep to be got but not better sheep than and as the people are still buying up land I think the wisest plan is to sell as you will not miss them while you get halfe wooll and part of the increase. If you do not wish to sell then tell them I have them for sale because a great part of the run yet wants buying to make sure north part of the hill is the best of the run and easy made into paddocks. You have this year a thousand lambs besides the thirds of other peoples and in the course of three years you will have more sheep than you will be albe to keep. I allso wrote what is to be done about Domet. I want to hear from you as soon as possibble and let me know how to act in this affair. I dare say you have done so but not yet come to hand. We shall shear about the end of December as it would not do to shear earley on account [fragment. Second half torn off]
