Waipawa June 16th 1864 My dear McLean, Many thanks for your kindness in sending on Mrs.Cooper's letter - but unluckily I can't get away till the next steamer. I have a correspondence on hand, arising out of Newman's opposition to the Bench in the "Weekes" Militia case which I am bound to complete and post before I leave - and I have also a heap of summonses out for cases which must be heard before I can get away. So I must just reconcile myself to the loss of the wedding festivities and sail on 26th instead of today. I received Fox's letter ordering me down, on Tuesday, and I forward by today's mail a copy of it officially to Major Whitmore. I expect to be in Napier on Wednesday next so as to have a day or two to spare before sailing. Will you get up a memo. of anything you want me to do for you either official or private in Wairarapa or Wellington. Meantime, I remain Sincerely yours G. S. Cooper
