Letter from H.T. Kemp, to Donald McLean, dated 17th, February 1854 Wellington 17th. February 1854. My dear McLean, Enclosed you will find several letters. There is also one from E Puni to Henry. It points out the boundaries as mentioned in the Deed. I will leave it unsealed for your perusal. The old gentleman was disposed to be somewhat obstinate in reference to the latter portion of the boundary; but I kept him to the Deed. Neither did I think it right to offer him anything in addition in the shape of money. I thought that you might perhaps be better paid by handing the amount you mention to Henry, if you thought it advisable. Altogether you will find E Puni's letter, and the advice he gives to Henry, very satisfactory. He desires me to be sure and send his aroha to you. He also hopes you will make liberal provision for Henry in the shape of land. Pirika, I have furnished with provisions and tobacco for the journey, having detained him only one day. He will give an account of our conference. I don't think of anything more, I shall probably leave this for Auckland in about ten days by the Brig.
