Wellington May 2, 1870 My dear McLean I am afraid you will think I tease you too much on subject - but I must trust to your good nature to excuse it. I see by the papers that Ormond and yourself are going to have a meeting of natives at Tapuhaereu. Now do you not think something might be done when you are there towards getting down the remains of poor Jack St George? I believe 3 or 4 from you addressed to the good feelings of the Tapuhaereu men or others who liked poor Jack - and which no one knows better or so well to them as yourself, would get them to take the trouble necessary. Mrs. Domett will never rest till his bones are brought down here, and she will take it as the greatest favor that can be conferred upon her - if you will forward its being done. I really think could get this done when you are at Taupo - or I should not have liked to ask you. You will have more to read I daresay than you like so I will not lengthen this Believe me Yours very truly Alfred Domett The Honb. D. McLean
