Mon chere frere Mrs McLean threatened to be ill but with care she will be quite well. She is going about and has not been confined to bed. She had no wine in the house. I sent her some port. The children are coming here on Monday and if necessary shall keep them a day or two. They are interesting little things. Mrs Tolemache lunched here on Wednesday. She was so pleasant. Mrs Waterhouse returned my visit the same day. The Session people are beginning to come. Dined last evening with Mr Fox 'en famille'. Returned with a violent headache. Mr Fox keeps well but appears more anxious just now than usual. I think he will be glad when you come down. There are a great many applicants for job employ.
