Lambertford 20th. Novr. 1866. My dear McLean, We have had rumours up here of an invasion or a raid by our sober friends, but I have not heard a word from any official source our friend Ormond remaining where he is with his family causes me to feel truly safe as yet the Militia being called out without the 20 days notice has alarmed some of the people about here who are astonished at my knowing nothing about it, I suppose should we have difficulties I shall not be treated as at the last affair, as I cannot submit again but shall send in in my resignation and the cause for so doing. I am delighted to hear you have secured the land at Tuki pa you will I hope lay out a Township at the entrance to the Bush, I believe it as been always contemplated by Government. With kind regards Believe me yours very truly, C. Lambert.
