Monday 15 Nov/58. My dear Sir, Everything is quiet here and as far as we are able to judge likely to continue so. The Kawhia postman who arrived on Friday last, reported that Ihaia had gone to Mokau in consequence of having had a difference with Nikorima on the subject of land selling. This however requires confirmation. I hope to send first contribution for the edification of the natives in this Province by next oppty, and if they will read it some good may result. Faithfully yours H. Halse. To:- McLean Esq.
