Auckland 14th. March 1850. My dear Sir, Many thanks for your two letters written in February, both of which duly reached me. I was sorry to hear of the refractory conduct of the natives at Taranaki; but hope it will all smooth down by and bye. No European shipping in here, or intelligence of any kind, but we are all anxiously looking out for English news. I expect to leave Auckland for Wellington about the middle of April, as my marriage takes place as soon as Lent is over; and I shall endeavour to get away as soon afterwards as possible to my own Province.
