Wellington April 24th My dear Donald The purpose if all's well to leave here by the 'Nevada' on the 14 of May. Where are we to meet you? I do hope we shall see you and Douglas before we go as it will be a disappointment to both of us if we do not. No doubt it is wearing of me but I can't reconcile myself to the idea of going so far from home but if it was Robert, the good he expects, it will make up for a great deal. I am so glad that you have taken the house as it keeps the home together. The grounds are looking very pretty just now. The house no doubt is old and I told Robert that you ought to have it at a moderate rent. You will find the cow useful and produce out of the garden helps greatly in housekeeping. Your old Margret a good faithful servant and should you not require the house all the year you can at any time leave it in her charge. Annabella seems to like the feeling of having a house and I am so glad now that we are going away that Douglas will be here to see his grandfather for Robert has been at all times most attentive and kind to this old man & he will miss him.
