Wellington Jany 12th My dear Donald I am so glad to hear that you have been up to the station and enjoyed it. Mrs Park left noon Thursday. She, I think, enjoyed her visit and I am now thankful she was to see her brother so happy. I gave her a large luncheon party in the drawing room at which we had Dr Featherston, Mr Gisborne and others. It went off very well. The gallant Whitmore has taken an empty "pa" and they are making as much fuss about it as if they had gained a great victory. Mr Stafford with his wife met her the other day. She spoak but he turned back. Later in the day we meet again but I did not condesend to take notice of him. Robert is going to Wanganui on Saturday. He will be away for a week. He said that he would write to you today. I was much upset to hear of poor Polly Ellison's end. I have written to her mother to come down for a little change. Mr Strang is getting very frail. I do wish that he was living at this end. Robert goes up to see him as often as he can. "Private" If you have any business arrangements to make with George Hart see to it for I don't like the look of things. You will take no notice of this. I am allways your affectionate sister Catherine Hart
