Napier March 29th My dear Donald I have heard from John Alexander Smith that you were looking tired and worn out at Auckland and now I fear your prolonged stay with those people on the coast is really too much of a good thing and you will have no rest when you get back. It will be to near the Session. I am going home on Saturday in the [Benefecteen?]. I did intend going last week but did not feel well enough to go. Dr Hitchings is attending upon me & he seems to think that it is not bronchitis but some kind of cheste affection brought on by cold. No doubt I am feeling much better up here but the weather has been so fine ever since I came that that may account for it. I am quite afraid to go back to Wellington. Mr Hart says that Douglas was most attentive to him during his atack of gout. Archy has been suffering from lumbago and rheumatism. I was anxious for him to go to Tapou, however I am sorry to say that he has been very bad in his "Cups" lately and really itaffects his brain so much that is not safe to be near him. Poor fellow I do think bigg [?] Kate has a great deal to contend with. Let me have a word from you before I go home. I met with an accident in getting out of the dog cart. Sprained my ancle. If you go to the station do not use the white horse for he bucks & is not safe. Your aff. sister Catherine Hart
