How will he get over the Tapu and Mokau? That I fear will cause me some trouble and others too. The two Pikopo chiefs Tanui and his son Kuri are the authors of the mischief; the Mokau people are I think blameless. I can only add that we are much obliged by your kind remembrance of us and for your intended present of loaves to Mrs. W. which however came not to hand because of the Tapu.
