Wanganui Sept. 15th. 1851. My dear Mr. Maclean, Will you have the goodness to give notice of the lands I claim, to the Colonial Secretary. I send, on the other side, a description of them, and I shall feel obliged by your filling up for me the proper form of declaration. I claim 225 acres, that is a Scrip and a half, which I purchased of Dr. Rees. The No. of the Scrip is 116. The half Scrip was that of Dr. Rees' brother, then on Absentee. Please do this at once. I hope it will not be long before we see you at Wanganui. We shall expect the pleasure of seeing your bonny wee bride with you. At any rate, let me hear from you, for now the troublesome affair of courtship is over, you will have more time to remember old friends. Believe me, very sincerely yours (Signed) Richard Taylor. To:- Donald Maclean Esq. I claim in virtue of a Scrip and a half, purchased from Dr. Rees, the following lands registered in the New Zealand Company's books. 100 acres No. 11 Right bank of the Wanganui. 70 or 75, according to the size of the section, No. 33 Left bank of the Wanganui. 50 do. No. 166 do. do. (Signed) Richard Taylor Wanganui. Sept. 15th. 1851.
