Friday night Wellington My dear Donald I got your kind letter today and am sorry to hear that Annabella is not with you. I hope she is down by this time. I am writing this from Mr Strang's. Robert and I was sent for this evening by Dr Grace. Dear Mr Strang has had a slight fit but I am thankful to tell you that he is better and Dr Grace says out of danger. He went to his office this morning in his usual health but it was a dreadfully cold and not fit for him to be out. Robert has gone home and of course I stay here until Mr Strang (God willing) is well again. I shall attend to what you say with regard to Mrs Miller. My dear husband is quite well and as happy as any man can be, and as for myself I ought to be happy and I hope am thankful to him who over rules all events for providing me (who am so unworthy of it) with such a happy home. I shall leave this open untill the morning. Ferard is giving up at last. He is indeed a Cat and I am not sorry that things are as they are. I am sorry to hear that you have been raising money for the province but times are bad everywhere at present. Saturday morning Mr Strang has had a pretty good night and I hope in a few days that he will be able to get up. You will hear from us by every opportunity. Will you please say to Scully that Mary has had the measels but Dr Grace tells me that she is quite well again and I will go to see her very soon and will (if they will allow her), take her up to the house for a change.
