Also you will need to give notice today in addition to those 2 Bills 1st readings of the 1st reading of the Appropriation Act -- I am obliged to go into the country but will be back by Council time. And whereas the Loan Act Amendment Act 1868 provides that certain sums shall be appropriated to the different purposes set on in the Schedule of the said Act. And whereas the Finance Committee have recommended that those various sums shall be expended in the manner and upon the objects detailed below. This Council is of opinion That the Superintendent shall expend the different sums appropriated by the Loan Act Amendment Act in the manner, upon the express object, and subject to the conditions expressed in this resolution. That is to say -- The sum of £120 Lighthouse Napier shall be expended upon a light at the Port of Napier as recommended by Mr.Balfour and agreed to by the Finance Committee -- The sum -- for Purchase Native Lands shall be expended in the purchase of the following Blocks of land only, name them -- The sum of -- for Roads shall be expended in the way and upon the different objects hereafter detailed -- give detail of Road expenditure as agreed to by Finance Committee -- add condition abt. Great North Road -- The sum of -- for Lunatic Assylum at Gaol. Mr.Weber's estimate of the cost of the building is wanted -- The sum of -- on Harbour purposes Give detail of Finance Committee's recommendations.
