Police Office, Pehe Jany. 29, '45. Sir, Some Natives who were expelled the Missionary Pah for incest or adultery, have located themselves in the town, directly beneath Capt. Campbells House. I wish them to be removed. About 2 months since, I sent the Sergeant of Police to warn them, that they were occupying ground which belonged to the Europeans, yet if they behaved quietly I should allow them to remain on it. Since then, complaints have been made to me of detected thefts, indecent exposure on the beach, lascivious dances, and general troublesome behaviour to the Europeans Under these circumstances I cannot suffer them to remain and I must beg you to explain to them, that unless the Houses are removed by Saturday next February 1st I will effect their removal by the Police. One old man, known as Porkham, against whom I know of no complaint, may perhaps be permitted to remain, still I wish him to understand, that it is conditioned on his quiet conduct, that any complaint if sustained, will oblige me to remove his house. I am, Sir, Your obed. servant, Sam. King, P.M. Mr. Mclean, Protector of Aborigines.
