Mission House, April 14th, 1847. Sir, I have just received a letter from the Revd.Mr.Lawry, Genl.Supert., in wh. he remarks, in reference to the disputed portion of the Mission Station, "The Governor has left your land-affair in the hands of Mr.McLean, telling him to do all that could be done to meet your views in the matter". If such be the nature of his Excellency's instructions, may I be allowed to request that you will endeavour to effect an amicable arrangement of the point in question, at your earliest convenience, that I may be able to have the land cleared as soon as possible, so as to be ready for Spring. Hoping you will excuse my importunity, I beg to remain, Sir, Your Obedt. Servant, H. Hanson Turton. To Dond. McLean, Esqr., Inspector of Police, New Plymouth.
