My dear McLean Would you be kind enough to give the accompanying letter to Buckland for me - it is about sending wethers to him. I am sure you will give me any assistance in this matter that you may be able, by advising with Buckland, or any other way you may see advisable. I send the letter open for you to read. You will see that I have left everything to him, and this was done in case you should not have time to see him on the subject. I shd. think he would take your advice, as a matter of course. I send you another letter herewith upon official matters, written so that you can make any use of it. It contains nothing that we have not discussed already - but I thought it as well to give you a memo, of the most important matters and what I thought about them. I trust entirely to your kindness and influence at Auckland to remove any unpleasant impressions that may have been created there about me - and with many thanks for very many kindnesses, and wishing you a pleasant trip I remain, Your's very sincerely G. S. Cooper January 21st 1863
