Napier April 28, 1875 Dear Sir, I enclose you last evg. Telegraph and this mg. Herald. I dont know whether you have heard it. I told Mr. Ormond a few days ago - but it is generally rumored that Robert Stuart is going to oppose your re-election to the House of Representatives. I can see you smiling. Mr. R. Stuart wants to climb the ladder too quickly - his fall will be as rapid as his rise. Mr. Dyndon and Sutton will come in for City East. Lee for City West, Newton for Sub. South, Kinross for Port Ahuriri and I am afraid R. Stuart for Sub. North. Clive young Russell. Meanee W. R. Russell and Maney - (that is if the latter does not at the last moment retire in favor of Buchanan - as McHardy Havelock - Tanner Hastings - Mr. Ormond Petane - Towgood Hampden - A'Deane Waipukurau - S. Johnston Porangahau - Canning Rua Taniwha - Lambert Mohaka - Dolbel Te Aute - Young Harding and? the other Wairoa - Burton I think the above will be the next Prov. Council, but there are such a lot of new hands - that it is much more difficult to ascertain now than it was 4 years ago. ''Lascelles has withdrawn in favor of Mr. Kinross - The Wairoa Mailman has not turned up yet - 3 days behind time. I send all your letters etc. to hand. Your obt.st. Geo. Thos. Fannin
