Wanganui 26th, June 1849 Sir, I beg to transmit to you, for the information of His Excellency, the Lieut. Governor, the enclosed Minutes of a Meeting held at Te Awahou, Rangitikei, on the 15th. and 16th. days of March last, together with a copy and translation of a letter from Hakariah at Otaki, dated the 20th. Jan. expressing the opposition of the Ngatiraukawa tribe to the sale of land, especially on the South bank of the Rangitikei, Having alluded to the proceedings of this Meeting in previous communications, it may be unnecessary for me, in transmitting the Minutes, to offer any further remarks on this subject.
