LARGE BOY SCOUT RALLY IN LONDON ON THE OCCASION OF A SPECIAL INSPECTION BY THEIR CHIEF — SIR ROBERT BADENPOWELL, THE DISTINGUISHED BRITISH SOLDIER WHO INAUGURATED THE BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT. INSPECTING SCOUTS AT A SPECIAL PARADE. About 3000 Boy Scouts from London, the Provinces and Overseas Dominions were recently inspected by Sir Robert Baden- Powell, the Chief Scout, on the Thames Embankment, before attending the Boy Scouts' Memorial Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral. POLLING DAY IN THE NEW ZEALAND HOSPITAL AT WALTON-ON-T HAM ES. SOLDIERS VOTE ON THE REFERENDUM TAKEN AMONG THE ELECTORS OF NEW ZEALAND REGARDING WHETHER OR NOT PROHIBITION SHOULD REPLACE THE EXISTING LICENSES FOR THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS. The illustration shows nurses and soldier patients voting in the polling stat on especially prepared for the poll at the New Zealand Hospital at Walton-on-Thames, The soldiers’ votes showed an overwhelming majority in favour of Continuance, which, added to the civilian vote, caused Prohibition to be rejected by over 10,000 votes.
