THE MARIST BROTHERS’ SCHOOL SENIOR FOOTBALL TEAM, INVERCARGILL. WINNERS OF THE SOUTHLAND RUGBY UNION’S SCHOOLS’ CHAMPIONSHIP. 1915. This season the School won both championships for the first time, placing 645 points to its credit for the season. The senior team secured the Southland Rugby Football Union’s Schools’ Championship for the past four years. Their line was not crossed during 1913, 1914 and 1915. During these three seasons the team has contested 21 games and scored 723 points, an average of 34 per match. During the past three seasons the senior and junior teams have scored a total of 1169 points. Since 1900 the senior team has won the Southland Rugby Union’s Schools’ Pennant and Championship nine times.

SNAPSHOTS OF THE INTERPROVINCIAL RUGBY FOOTBALL MATCH BETWEEN CANTERBURY AND WELLINGTON. The game was played on Athletic Park, Wellington, on Saturday, August 30, and resulted in a win for the home team by 21 points to 8. Among those who witnessed the match were the Governor-General (Lord Liverpool) and Admiral Lord Jellicoe. The snapshots are as follows: 1. Group of spectators watching the game from the vantage points afforded by the banks at Athletic Park. 2. A Wellington player securing possession of the leather. 3. The Canterbury Rugby Representative Football Team which played Wellington. 4. Forwards in pursuit of the leather. 5. A Wellington forward rush.
